What Were About:

The Calvinist Cadet Corps is an independent (non-denominational) youth ministry organization whose purpose is to provide the local church with a ministry program that will enable them to effectively share Christ's love with boys from their church and community. Founded in 1952, the Corps has more than 600 clubs throughout North America. We encourage any evangelical Bible believing church to consider using our ministry programs. The organization uses the title "Calvinist" to honor the Protestant reformer, John Calvin, who devoted his life to the religious education of God's children.

What We Believe:

The basis of the Calvinist Cadet Corps is the Word of God (the Bible) according to the concept of the same as expressed in the Heidelberg Catechism, the Canons of Dordt, and the Belgic Confession. Practical Application of these Beliefs God is revealed in His Word – The cadeting ministry encourages studying the Bible as the guide to life. God is revealed in nature – The cadeting ministry encourages experiencing the presence of the Lord in His glorious creation. Learning the skills of an outdoorsman builds a boy's character, and developing a boy's understanding of his place in God's world helps him to be a faithful steward. Men as God's servants – The Calvinist Cadet Corps is the ministry of men of God who are dedicated to bring boys into a living relationship with their Lord and Savior. These men, understanding their imperfection, hold on to the promise that the Lord will bless their prayers, their example, and their instruction if they rely on God's strength.

In Sully the boys may begin in the summer before they enter 5th grade. There are limited activities performed late in the summer. In September the Cadets kick off the season with a campout on a Friday night after School. During this time the Cadets along with the Counselors brush up on there camping, cooking, and outdoor skills. It is a time of fun activities, Bible study, and learning about God's creation.

A typical Wednesday night is spent with Bible study and projects they can complete to earn badges. If you browse using a link to the national cadet corps, you will see the many activities the boys can do to earn badges.

The Cadets also have opertunities to do fun activities with other cadets such as bowling, snow derby, camporees, canoeing, and many other activities.

At the end of the year Cadets have the opertunity to build and race pinewood derby cars. There is a race held at the local cadre and then can compete at the corps level in Pella at the annual Cadet Jamboree. They also are able to show their badge work and win ribbons for recognition of there hard work.
